What is needed to apply for a Mississippi Commercial Driver License? |

The applicant must possess a valid regular Mississippi driver license, social security card and must show proof of residency. A non refundable $25.00 application fee will be collected at the time application is made. The applicant must then pay a $12.00 fee for his/her permit. Once the applicant has passed the road test, a cost of $40.00 for the license will be required. There is also an additional $5.00 charge for any endorsements added to the license. Anyone whose vision is not at least 20/40 in each eye cannot obtain a Commercial Driver License.
If the applicant is 17 years of age, and wants to obtain a Mississippi Commercial Driver Licnese, he/she must show a certified birth certificate, social security card, proof of residency and a valid school form. A non refundable $25.00 application fee will be collected at the time application is made. The applicant must then pay a $12.00 fee for his/her permit. Once the applicant has passed the road test, a cost of $5.00 for the license will be collected. Until the applicant reaches the age of 21, he/she will be restricted to intrastate only. There is also an additional $5.00 charge for any endorsements added to the license, with the exception of the hazardous material endorsement. Anyone under the age of 21 cannot carry the hazardous material endorsement.
Anyone entering the State of Mississippi wanting to apply for a Mississippi Commercial Driver License must possess a valid out-of-state license, social security card and show proof of residency. A $25.00 application fee will be collected along with the cost of $40.00 for the license. There is also an additional $5.00 charge for any endorsements.
