"Honey Bun" Arrest Made; Second Suspect at Large
01/13/2004

A third suspect has been arrested in the so-called "Honey Bun" robbery of the Grand Casino in Tunica, Mississippi, which occurred September 20, 2003. Linda Stevenson, 22, from Michigan was arrested in Tempe, Arizona Saturday (January 10, 2004). "We had developed information that Stevenson and a second fugitive, 32-year-old Jason Drew Godown, were in Tempe and notified law enforcement officials there. Authorities in Tempe were able to arrest Stevenson but Godown is still at large," said Mississippi Bureau of Investigations Special Agent, Allan Thompson. "Their flight from authorities is believed to have taken them from Mississippi to Florida to Louisiana and Arizona," Thompson added.
Lashondra Gibbs, 22, and 32-year-old Kevis C. Wilson, both of Tunica, have been arrested and charged with armed robbery in the case. Stevenson was charged with armed robbery and an armed robbery warrant for Godown has also been issued. All four face up to life in prison.
Stevenson has become known as the "Honey Bun Bandit" for her alleged role in the robbery of the Grand Casino in Tunica County. Tunica County Justice Court records indicate that Stevenson is the woman who entered the casino September 30, 2003 and claimed she had a bomb and demanded cash. The robber fled the casino with more than $60,000 cash. Further investigation by the Memphis Police Department's Bomb Squad alleged bomb was an empty Honey Bun box. The incident closed the casino for more than seven hours.
The investigation is continuing and if any one has information related to this case, the arrest of Jason Drew Godown or information regarding other casino robberies in Tunica County they should contact Tunica County Crime Stoppers at (662) 910-0400.
